We have expressed the maki-e of "Sakamoto Otsuzo Shoten," a long-established lacquerware store in Aizuwakamatsu, in collaboration with m2.
The innovative form of these geta was born from the idea that "it would be surprising to have geta that are like lacquered jewelry."
Geta and maki-e are both traditional Japanese cultures. Combining them has led to "GETA that evolve."
The design of the tenban (upper surface) is divided into sections with gold leaf, and then layers of vibrant colors like blue and green, mixed with titanium powder, are applied.
Similarly, the genuine leather thongs are gradually colored with blue and green, mixed with titanium powder, applied with a brush to create a gradient.
This pair showcases the craftsmanship of lacquered maki-e techniques.
Enjoy them as if they were a piece of jewelry.

Easy-to-walk-in heel-type geta.
The "hitete" series is popular for being easy to walk in and making your feet look beautiful.
With a heel height of approximately 6.5cm, it is the most popular series, offering comfort even for those who are not accustomed to heels, and a silhouette that can be easily matched with Western clothes, like sandals.

 

Point 1: Shape of the wooden base (toe)
The shape of the toe area, in particular, makes it easy to grip the thong tightly.
Point 2: Toe strap
Contains cushioning material for a soft feel against the foot. Designed to prevent thong chafing.
Point 3: Thong mechanism
Contains cushioning material for a soft feel against the foot. The wide width gently cradles the foot. Shaped to fit the average Japanese foot type.
Point 4: Shape of the wooden base (arch)
The arch shape in the instep area provides a comfortable fit.
Point 5: Wooden material
Excellent durability, rich wood grain expression, and develops character with every step. Made from mahogany and sapele.
Point 6: Outsole (sole)
Uses synthetic rubber. Can be easily repaired at your local shoe repair shop. We recommend frequent replacement before the wood wears down.
